I have worked hard in the fields of community, research and sports pharmacy and hope to develop my career in research and ethics. Key Skills/Achievements. Work as a single-handed proprietor pharmacist (32 years in the family business Finlay Mckinlay) demonstrating my confidence, dedication, motivation, tenacity and ability to both lead and work in a team. I undertook many research projects and audits in the community, nursing home and GP practice and developed excellent communication skills. I liaised with many GPs/consultants giving prescribing advice, PACT data analysis and Needs Assessment/Domiciliary Visiting project feedback. For three years I worked as the pharmacist representative in the PCT’s multidisciplinary clinical governance Research and Development Task Force. This involved critical appraisal of research projects. I work as an expert member of Greater Manchester Central Research and Ethics Committee and completed the on-line induction and training day on 1.12.2015. I have recently completed a Diploma in the Ethics and Philosophy of Medicine at the Apothecaries Hall, London. I have good internet and IT skills, having passed the ECDL Modules 1 and 2. I have given power point presentations to large audiences at Hidden Earth Caving Conferences and on my book “A Glossop Apothecary” to Women’s Institutes and Historical Societies throughout the High Peak. My presentation has been accepted at the British Society for the History of Medicine in Edinburgh, September 2017. Experience in hospital and clinical pharmacy was gained by 4 months work as a shift working rotational pharmacist at Derby City General Hospital in 2007. Further knowledge was gained by 4 month’s fulltime attendance as a Student Physician Associate at Manchester University in 2016. In the voluntary sector, I have worked for Derbyshire Districts Citizens Advice Bureau as a Gateway, Generalist and Telephone Adviser helping people from all walks of life in benefit, employment, housing, consumer and debt problems. I continually update my clinical pharmacy knowledge and completed the CPPE Drugs in Sport modules in 2012. I volunteered as a polyclinic pharmacist at the London 2012 Olympics, the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympics and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In 2015, I acted as a doping control chaperone at the 1st European Games in Baku demonstrating my capability as an international pharmacist I was chairman of Stockport Branch RPSGB FROM June 2007-9 and am currently on the steering group of Greater Manchester Pharmacy Practice Forum organising postgraduate training.
